If pairing to the CarPro is unsuccessful, the following list will outline the most common reasons why and what you can do about it.
You need a song saved to your music library or music folder.
Not having a song that you own (purchased and saved to your music library) is the most common reason the connection between the CarPro and your car stereo won’t work. While this is not an unsuccessful pairing with the CarPro, the CarPro needs this song to complete the connection to the car or motorcycle stereo.
Problem messages on your infotainment screen:
There are no playable songs on the device
No playable media
There are no playable tracks on the device
These messages indicate you need to buy one song from iTunes or YouTube Music, depending on your phone.
Without it, you will not be able to hear any music. While you have successfully paired your phone to the CarPro, there is no audio. It will look like music is playing on your phone, but you won’t be able to hear anything from the car stereo.
Check that the CarPro is securely on the cable. The blue light should be flashing. This light indicates that the CarPro is getting power, and it is in pairing mode.
What can you do if there is no flashing blue light?
1. Examine your cable.
Is the cable frayed, broken, plugged in securely? If you need a new cable, let us know. We are happy to help guide you with buying the correct replacement for your vehicle.
Do you have an Infiniti, Nissan, or Volvo? You may need an additional power adapter. Check our compatibility list to see if your car is listed and has (*) an asterisk next to it. We have power adapters and select cables in stock.
Contact us with any cable questions. Be sure to include the year, make, and model of your vehicle and the type of phone you will be using with your CarPro.
Please note that the CoolStream CarPro is NOT compatible with most aftermarket iPod car cables such as Dension Gateway, Griffin AutoPilot, iSimple, Pioneer AVIC F700BT, Sony WXGT 77U1, USA-Spec PA15-HON2Y, USA-Spec PA15-NIS, USA-Spec PA15-TOY.
2. Test your cable.
If possible, test the cable with a different device. Plug an iPod, iPod Nano, iPhone 3, or iPhone 4 onto your cable.
- Can you successfully stream music using one of these devices?
- Does the device charge while on the cable?
If you answer NO to either question above, you could need a new cable or an additional power adapter.
Please note: Depending on the year and model of your Infiniti, Nissan, or Volvo, you may need an additional power adapter.
Is the cable on your Harley Davidson an HD Boom iPod Audio Interface? This cable is not compatible with the CarPro. You will need the CoolStream Duo.
CoolStream can help you with a replacement cable or charge adapter. We have many in stock or can provide you with the correct part number for your vehicle. Contact-Us@CoolStreamRocks.com
Sometimes pairing to the CarPro will be unsuccessful because of a compatibility issue. Not every car or motorcycle with a 30-pin iPod cable will be compatible with the CarPro.
If you have an Audi with a 2G stereo system, the CarPro is not a Bluetooth music streaming option for this stereo.
Please contact CoolStream via email at Contact-us@CoolStreamRocks.com or via phone at (603) 421-6515. Let us know the year, make, and model of your vehicle and if you use an iPhone or Android phone. We are happy to help guide you to the correct Bluetooth solution for your vehicle.
